Bucharest Then and Now

This album presents some of the missing buildings in the context of new ones risen from the ashes and, often, on the place of the old ones. The emphasis on the documentation of the interwar period demonstrates precisely the dynamic of the city towards defining and wasted renewing of war and gulag politic that followed. Contemporary photographs which accompany each gold make us hope that a new favourable period can be possible and from now on the city, which some of us love, has the chance to become admirable.
